Medical situation report

Octavius is doing much better today. He's more energetic, he's starting to produce yellow seedy poops, and he's taking much more during feedings (30-60 mL).

The beast is unleashed.

-- Update: 12:53 --
It sounds like they may be discharged this afternoon.

Announcing Mr TUV

Earth, prepare yourself.

TUV4 has arrived.

He emerged from the pod to meet with his host family:

 They showed him love.
He says he will give our planet further consideration, but he thinks highly of us so far.

Seven Centimeters!

We are at 7 cms. Mummy is doing very well and baby's heart is strong.

Five Centimeters

Mummy's reached 5 cms. She's in good spirits and doing very well now.

Epidural

After fighting through many tough contractions, mummy has agreed to an epidural. This will hopefully have the added benefit of helping speed up dilation. The best part is that mummy can again focus on what's coming and doesn't have to worry about pain.

Dman came for a visit and is still in charge. He had to challenge all of the newcomers to the delivery room.

The epidural was in by 1830.

Mummy is now comfy and snuggled in and warm.

Contractions.

2min each. 1 min rest

Active labour: Oxytocin go!

We took a little break to have lunch and enjoy the view of the sunny day. Mummy had a nice little shepherds pie for lunch and is happy but a little scared. Mum had some quiet time to have some reflection and is very happy to get to meet baby soon.

The nurse came in and started the oxytocin. This is just a hormone to jump start the active delivery process.

We're told this is the start of the active labour.

Water is broken!

Mummy's water broke. Foley device is out. And our nurse is one of our neighbors. A community birth!

Prelabour ... Done? Inducing active labour

They're inducing active labour today. We're going to be parents, again, today. Dman is becoming a big brother and cousins are getting another cousin. Rhodri, Digby, Neveah, Kaylee, Chance, Savera: your cousin is coming.

-- Update 11:50 --
We just walked back over to Connell. They're giving Mummy the oxytocin now.

Settling down for a rest

Were settling down for a nap. Sweet dreams Mummy, baby and all of you.

Thank you for your love and support.

Big shout outs tonight to Bobbie, Terri, Diana, and mom and dad.

Were getting some pain meds to help mummy gets some shut eye.

Foley is go

So Mummy toughed through having a foley device inserted. She is so amazing and beautiful and strong. But she is having a rough go as its effectively manually dilating the cervix. She's trying to rest at the moment, but with her contraction 3-4 mins apart she's not getting much rest.

A Foley Device?

So stage one of pre-labour continues to be in progress. Mummy had Dad and BigBro come visit this morning.

Next stage is for Mr Foley.

Sweet Dreams

So we popped by for bedtime stories and to wish Manna sweet dreams. After stories Daed had to check every corner of the room out to be sure it was acceptable.

The table:

The closet:

And even making sure the chairs are acceptable:

After stories were read it was finally time for Daed to tuck Manna into bed.

I'm thinking he's more than ready to be a big brother. He's certainly excited about it.

-- Final Checkin 23:00 --
Momma's doing well. She's happy and settled in. I brought her several requested creature comforts and so she's snuggled in with snacks, movies, stories and WIFI. So feel free to email her or text her to let her know your thinking of her.

It has begun: Inducing with Prostaglandin

So the Dr has decide to induce with Prostaglandin. This puts delivery in a few days. However Mommy is now admitted to hospital. She'll be in a room soon.
Mom is happy and a little scared but tough. Please send love and support.

Cervadil was inserted at ~1705 to get the ball rolling.

Back in: Water Broke?

We're back at Labour & Delivery because Mommy's water may have broke.

Baby's heart rate is good. No significant contractions, but we are waiting for an inspection.  If her water is broke they're going to consider (again) inducing.

Mommy's in good spirits and baby is having some big hiccups.

Here's mommy looking chipper and beautiful.

First Post (but not chronologically)

So last night we were back at Labour and Delivery because the resident asked Momma to come back in. Yesterday was a weird one, because Momma's gestational diabetes stopped. The doctor's are worried that this means that the Placenta is 'tired'. ie: because the placenta has stopped producing the hormone that causes gestational diabetes, it's likely stopped producing other things. Thus: it's time.

We're going back in today and the doctors are going to have another look to make sure TUV4 is ok.

-- Update 11:30 --

We're here now and Momma's having some bloodwork. The specialist will be in later tonight. More will be written soon and I'm going to get the ultra sound pics all posted up with back story posts.

Big bro is excited about baby TUV4 coming soon.

-- Update 16:49 --

So we're back home and baby's still in Mommy. The doc's decided to just watch and shoot. On Tuesday Mommy is going back for her regular appointment with the specialist. As well, the OBGYN specialist is in tonight and will review Mommy's.
